My Journey to Design
I’ve had quite a journey, from hands-on labor and customer service roles to becoming a design educator and freelancer.
I am not a stranger to hard work and dedication to get a job done. From driving through a hurricane to get to work, working 65 12+ hour days in a row, and going above and beyond to leave a job better than when I left.
I am ready to move forward along my journey to finally reach my goal of joining a team of designers and collaborators.
Why Design?
For me, design is all about collaboration and continuous learning. I love diving into a project to understand a client’s vision and goals, and then bring that vision to life.
My time as a teacher has pushed my understanding of design and multitasking. There were some years when I even taught more than one class a period which was a test of communication, project management, and teamwork.
I love being able to create a wide range of deliverables and have not "niched down" as many suggest. If there is something I don't know how to do I always love being able to research and learn. Students were creative and we learned together.
Hard work, Dedication, and Fun
My journey in various roles has tested my willingness to work hard and dedication to my responsibilities.
I have also utilized design, strategy, and collaboration in my hobbies as a game enthusiast. From creating props, developing strategies, and collaborating in social games.
My family loves to play games and we attend a game convention annually as a family vacation. We love spending time together creating stories and being a part of communities.
My deep connection to my hobbies and my family inspires my work, adding a distinctive touch.
Impacting Client's
Through Meaningful Work
I’ve had the opportunity to work on some amazing projects, like revitalizing the Tyler County Historical Commission's website and boosting engagement for the Lumberton Raiderettes. These experiences have taught me the importance of strong communication and collaboration.
